Dear Local 2013 Members:
Labor Day is a day we set aside to honor the contributions America’s working people have made toward the betterment of this country and I cannot think of anyone who has contributed more than our members.
Each and every one of you have demonstrated over the past few years how essential you are to your communities and your country. Whether you work in healthcare, food industries, service industries, manufacturing, retail, meatpacking and food processing, pharmacy, cannabis, distillery, or another industry, it is your hard work that ensures that families have access to the food, supplies, and care they need.
Your contributions can be seen both in recent contract victories and in organizing wins across many UFCW Locals. All across the country, members are standing together to send a message to companies that our members and hard-working people everywhere must have the wages, health care, and safety measures they have earned and deserve.
Together, we are building a stronger UFCW International as well as a stronger UFCW Local 2013 – one that will always prioritize the good wages and benefits and safe workplaces you have earned and deserve. We are continuing to build a UNION that gives members the opportunity to build better lives for themselves and their families. And we are building a UNION that fights to make sure that essential workers’ contributions are not only recognized on Labor Day, but recognized all year-round.
Thank you again for all that you do and have a safe and happy Labor Day.
Sincerely and fraternally,
Louis Mark Carotenuto, President
UFCW Local 2013
